Hello, My name is Ken Stewart, I am the VOLKSWAGNUT. I have loved mechanical things all my life. Mainly into old Volkswagens, but also the 49-51 Mercs and Fords, and anthing classic. I was informed about this forum from my Pop (krackerjack1951). He said its worth looking into, and that says a lot.
I am the original 5 second VW belt change video guy, of Stewart's Rod Shop. Most car guys have seen that video at least one. We are a group of family and friends located near Charlotte N.C. Check out our 'Facebook" page. Always something going on. Be sure to add your car.

Thanks to all. Stefan T, Sweet combination. My Pop and I resurrected a 1951 Mercury Coupe from the boneyard, and saved it from the crusher. I have now learned of things, that were once lost. I definatly was born in the wrong era. I hope to complete my chopped Beetle with a Corvair engine someday.

Here is the Merc "The Gray Ghost"

Check out my You Tube Channel. I have an interesting VW Belt Change Video.

Welcome and hello from So.ILL. I am a VW fan myself, had a few over the years and recently sold a 57 oval.

Welcome from Colorado! I'm really diggin "The Gray Ghost" ... super cool that you managed to be in the right place at the right time to rescue it from "the crusher"!
I'm with you in that these cars are meant to be driven, not stored and trailered.
Good work! Enjoy the HAMB, its a blast :)

Welcome from the Great North West. Your 5 second belt change is mind blowin'. Don't know if I'd try it, but still real cool. Most of us have had a Bug at one time or another. Here's my present one. I never liked the way the drip rail continued down in front of the door, so I removed it. Suicided the doors, and rounded the bottom front corner like a '32 Ford 3 window. Even added '32 ford door handles up front.
