    it was a blast, cept for the sheted that did a burn out in a lte model mustang and almost went into the crowd..as he drove by, he was chattin on his cell phone.....

    The best one day event in the Metro Detroit area bar none.

    But Jim, don't believe everything you read or hear. There were NO WERE near 40,000 cars. There were maybe 4,000, if that. I've been to shows/events with 13-15,000 cars. NO WAY Hines Park could ever support that many cars between Outer Drive and Ann Arbor trail.

    no promotion from the big 3 like woodward
    no promotion from every radio/tv station like woodward
    no promotion from the freep or the news

    Don did it the old fashioned way he worked his ass off!

    and what was real cool.....'

    no mini vans!
    no beer tents with drunken idiots!
    no shootings!
    from what I hear no serious injuries!
    no burn out contest every 20 feet!

    just plain old fun in the sun with some of detroits coolest cars

    There were police there, Sherrifs actually. Not too many though, you didn't feel like they were watching your every move. They basically just cruz'd back and forth, more then likely really enjoying themselves. What they did do that was really cool, if a non-classic car went around the barricades or whatever, they were escorting those cars off of Hines Drive staying right behind them till they got to an exit. I saw this about 3 or 4 times.

    I saw a lot of non-classics there. New cars fresh off the lot . Mini pick-ups. Jeeps. You name it.
