The Lindsay Brothers, Jim and Bob are Oregon drag racers and have quite a collection of Nostalgia race cars, and Hot Rods. Their annual gathering at their farm was today. I took over 100 photos of some Hamb friendly machines. The location was near Albany, about 80 mi south of Portland. Great people, great cars and the unveiling and reuniting of a Competition Coupe with it's builder/owner 50 years later. BTW Ryan might know a little something about that 39 Tudor!
This Comp coupe was built by Bob Duedall in the early 60's. The first two shots are from that time frame, the rest are from today. That is Bob in the cockpit then and now!
Bob and Jim Lindsay, and some of their cars. Bob's Dragster when he runs his 6-71 blower, is "Worlds Quickest" Y-block drag car. It runs in the 7's at approaching 180mph.
The cars and the people at this event were great, the highlight for me was to meet and spend time with Jr. Fuel Dragster pioneer Ken Crawford. Ken is in the first shot, with Jim Lindsay on his right and Ron Austin on his left. Ken is 86 and sharp as a tack, the other pics are of his Ken's "light weight" Kent Fuller car back in the 60's. It was quite a treat for me, I made a new friend!
Its a long story. Were some of the guys there from the car club that built it? Was it the River Rats or something like that?
Yes he does, I should have asked him to lift the hood and taken some shots of the early Olds mill ! Clearly one of my favorites.
