First of all, sorry for the crappy pic. I took it this afternoon before I attempted to remove the pedals. I would have taken some better shots and even retrieved the pedals except I stepped on what might have been the roof at one time and ended up discovering a huge hornet's nest the hard way. I lost count of the stings after 15 or so. Ouch. :( Needless to say, I will be going back for those pedals when we've had a few frosts.:D

So, on to the pic. Looks like the car was peeled with a giant paring knife in the shape of a bulldozer. This dash shot is about the only thing that I could take a picture of that shows it was a car.

That doesn't help me at all, but thanks for reorienting it, Squirrel!

    And it's a Chuck Taylor!

I'm guessing we're looking at the inside of a firewall/cowl section. And from the color it might be military.

1950 Ford F1 looks close to me.. But there's no windshield garnish molding.

Also, the OP dash has a curve in the bottom of the dashboard whereas the F1 is straight across.

The dash insert reminds me of a 46 -48 Oldsmobile. But it could possibly be mopar. Definitely 41- 48 vintage though.

Hidden door hinge, and the shape of the windshield, parking brake handle etc. all look like a 40s vehicle.. I can't tell if it's a truck or a car. Windshield looks kind of short height to be a truck though.

Man - thanks for all the head scratchin'.
The parking brake handle looks 46-48 Ford-ish or Murcuryish. But the dash kinda looks like a 47-48 Chrysler...

Never mind I was looking at it funny, aren't we all? It's not a 46-8 ford as suggested looking at the parking brake. They don't look like that and where the pedals come out of the floor is wrong. On this they are coming out of the flat part of the floor not the angled part that meets the firewall. Though it does appear to have a removable metal toe board so that's gotta help us get somewhere.

53 Chevy car? ... no amateurs please.

parking brake has a late 30's GM look about it.

You'll have to forgive my quick 53 reply. With the column obstructing the view the cluster looked similar before I noticed that the dash is flat. Or what we can see of it. Things so bent up its hard to even put in perspective what your even looking at.

Didn't happen to get more then one aweful photo did ya?

Shaft of brake and clutch pedal appear curved.

Well. That one looks pretty close to me! Anyone know if the bottom of the dashboard sweeps down and then up under the trim like in the OP?

  30. Yes, thanks. [IMG]
