Well, I've been lazy so it's taken more than enough time to get to this point but...

I drove it! First time @ the gas station since the end of the 70's :)

Still have a few bugs to work out but overall I'm happy with the ol' gal.

Here's a shot of the power plant prior to getting the body back on the frame.

  4. I found my kit on shoeboxford from a gentleman who didn't want to keep it. I'm going to modify the center piece sligtly as it seems to have suffered some minor production flaws. The only piece I didn't get in the kit was the metal piece for the hood gap. I even got the original instructions paper from 54!

Is that your friends car, the one with the cal-custom kit mounted? It sure looks sweet. The other shoebox I presume is yours?

Thanks, I love it! I told my buddy about it and he ended up getting it for $700, and then I talked him out of it;), I was planning on tracking down an original front clip and flathead for it, but the clip has grown on me, and I picked up a hi-po 302 and an AOD for it. Going to leave it mostly stock with the trim and everything and maybe do a slight chop out of the roof above the glass because she has quite a forehead! For the front suspension, I might clip it or modify the stock arms for bags. In the rear im going to 4link, notch and bag it! Why did you pass on it?

I agree, completely solid, only rust is the spare tire hole thats getting cut out for a mustang tank. It has all the trim in perfect condition in the trunk and it has some kind of spotlight mirror combination that i've never seen!

Pete, what are those caps? They almost look like chrome wheels with 50 Merc caps.

  12. Your lucky. I stopped and checked it out. And the last three cars that guy has sold in that same spot he was way high on the price. So i didn't bother calling. Otherwise i would have been all over it! Please dont clip it. Spens some time on this forum and learn some stuff avout the traditional route. It can be a bad ass car. I am cool with a chop. Look at royal shifters car. And i chopped my own plymouth hardtop.

Thanks guys. It's been a long rough road for sure. The caps are '54 Buick on loan from loveoftiki. The paint sucks but I painted it in my backyard and it's the first time I've touched a gun in 16 yrs. gonna wetsand and one more coat eventually. That satin shit's a bitch to get even.
Oh yeah....anyone have a drivers side park light housing I can damn near have? Haha!

Cool front end, what kind of center bar do you have going there? The ripple bumpers look good too.

Posted on your other thread.. I think its a great start to whatever you want !! Lowered a little, white walls, skirts, chop.. ITS your car, do what you want !! Although i would get rid of all that side trim.. and then sell it to me !!

here is mine. been working on it off and on for 2 years. was sectioned and chopped 33 years ago by a friend of my dads and never finished. I need to fix the subframe its too wide. Anybody narrow a nova 5 inchs? could somebody give me a measure ment off a really low shoebox from fender lip to sidewall of tire. I want to be able to turn well when its down low.
