Nice bike is that a cruiser class? Im racing my diamond back in the "Old man" class lately. Kind of fun, mess with the kids and hit on the moms.

Since I started this thread, here are the one I want to customize:
The red one is mine, bought cheap at auction. would like to do some variation on a "tank" bob the back fender, ditch the front one, paint, new handlebars, repaint.
The purple(ish) one is my wifes, she just wants new tires and a nice detail job... we'll see. heh heh heh

Here's a few... first is my tall bike circa 1975, then my 1970 Swing bike, and last is Salsa Verde, a scratch-built 7-speed recumbo-cruiser my good buddy John Youens ('DesignIt' on the HAMB) built a couple of years back.

Got this one at a yard sale for $50.00, still has the original tires and they hold air for a few days at a time.

Ka-zoo, you might try www.bikerodnkustom.homestead.com for some ideas. Heres a pic of my old late 40's western flyer. The bike has a skip tooth chain, persons saddle and an original pair of carlisle lightning dart tires. My dad has an original schwinn black phantom he got for christmas in 1950 dang thing cost almost 100 bucks back then . I'll try to get some pic's of it. Pool

This gets my vote for best thread ever. Well, best thread of the day? I saw at least three other Michiganders post their bikes. We should start a gang.

Here is one of seven, this one is my favorite. Reynolds 853 air-hardened steel, made in the USA with hydraulic disc brakes...I worked as a bike mechanic through school.

The engine is specifically made for bicycles. It's made in China and called a Spitfire. They are all over ebay now, but when I got mine they wre much harder to get ahold of. There are some cheaply made versions by another name that I have been told to keep away from, but I've had real good luck with mine and it's a blast to ride. Plus since you have to pedal to start the motor (like an old moped) it's street legal with no license etc...plus it's under 50cc's. I get some pretty good looks when I'm riding that around!
