I was chatting with a buddy the other day and he mentioned that a 'new' grease exists called SNAPPER GREASE. I looked it up but dont find much info on anyone using it and the results. Has anyone used 00 grease (AKA Stens 00 Grease) before and what are your thoughts? I was thinking of using it in my steering box.

It ain't new ! Visit your local farm tractor dealer/supply and ask for "picker head or cornpicker head " grease. It is a flowable grease that works geat in older leaky steering boxes ,stays where it's needed, doesn't chanel like chassis grease.

What are you planning to use it in? It's great for manual steering gears, but a bit thin for chassis or wheel bearing use.

#2 is the most common grease.

Your local John Deere dealer or petroluem distributer will have it as corn head grese, the local parts house guys will look at you with a dumb look.

For those of us in non-agricultural areas, CV joint grease works ok, too.

  12. I'm reading into #2 grease as what I know.
Look at the label closely. EP-2 or NGLI #2 rating. Pick hi-temp type for universal joint usage and overkill in hotrod wheel bearing grease applications. It's standard for semi truck usage and more. Load and heat generated.
I like red label Mystic JT-6 Hi-Temp a lot. Other manufacturers produce products that will do the same job.
