Ok, so the big box stores and even Sherwin Williams has gotten rid of the old varnishes (understandably) but I have an oak floor in my 28 tudor sedan and I want to put a thick coat of clear to give me a strong surface like a shiny basketball court. Any suggestions what I could use?

If you have any marine stores around, you might be able to pick up some Spar Varnish

There is a product called Envirotex. A friend used to use it inhis craft business to seal pictures on tables. Very thick resin, clear finish.

A buddy of mine used regular automotive clear. He put 7 or 8 coats on it and steel wooled it in between coats to smooth it out and then waxed it. A fly could bust its butt on it now.

  7. You should be able to find Minwax Gloss Spar Urethane at just about any paint store or big box store,,it has a high gloss and is extremely durable. HRP
