I have a Bee Hive oil filter on our 261 Chevy six engine. It drains down when the engine is shut down. When I restart the engine it takes over a minute for the oil pressure to come up. I have looked at the Moroso #23875 one way oil valve. What do you all think? Thank You
The original bee hive filters were bypass filters. If one of those is properly installed and working correctly, oil pressure will not be effected by whether the filter housing is full or empty. More info on your installation might help someone help you.
Some of the G.M. applications required a check-valve in the block to keep the oil from draining out when the engine is shut off. Perhaps one of the inliner guys will chime in...
.......I have one in a Ford flathead .......oil pressure takes about 15 seconds....then goes up more.........I don't think that.a inline valve would help.......
