Hopefully in the next week Rick will have enough time to install decklid, fit hood, and finish fastening down the fenders so it can come home! Its over an hour drive so I need dry weather too! Al

There are some incredibly ugly things done to that car that would need to be changed as soon as its bought.

About the $106,995.00 Queen on eBay it's not Clone but a Gasser. If you ever built a 65 Comet with a FE 427 SOHC and all the stiff done to it painting and Letteting and had to pay one of those Chassis Shops you would be close to the $100,000.00 amount. Or do the labor yourself for $5.00 per hour it's a lot of work!! I do agree with you guys there is a lot of things on that Comet I would have done different like you guys said. Maybe one of the Bank Robbers on this site might Buy it. Those 64/65 Comets are not Cheep any more. ~~~~~~~~AFX DAVE~~~~~~~~

If you see it in person it looks alot worse...Someone allowed that pile to be parked with the Thunderbolts and lightweights at the 427 Reunion. It's one of those cars that looks like someone with good intentions started it but someone else with no clue and pile of money finished it learning to weld in the process.

Heres something alot cheaper you comet guys should pick up.
Comets being covered in CarCrafts annual "Elapsed Times" did a really nice feature on Scott Dapron who runs the '64 black comet often shown here.He has quite a collection you should check out.I found this at Meijers.

    Amazing holeshot!!

Thanks MD and Roy. Finally looking real close to done, I'm happy with my friends work too, looks great in person.

I also agree with AFX Dave on the cost of finding a 64 65 comet thats all there and then the re-doing it,not counting the co$t of a SOHC engine...Al

I ran across a file I had saved of Jack Chrismans Comet the other day. I'm not sure where it came from, I may have even found it here on the HAMB. Its great but its a video of still pictures so its hard to watch and pick up little details of the car unless you keep pausing it and thats a PITA. I took some screen captures of the video and thought you guys might be interested. ;)
