    Need a little help...

I am installing SoCal Hairpins on my 32 . I selected the stainless ball joint style ends. My questions is how do I weld the frame tabs to the frame.

I have taken a few pictures demonstrating the 2 options.

Which is correct, 1&2 which keeps the ball joint straight, has the tab at and angle to the frame or 3&4 which angles the ball joint but the tab fits flush with the frame?

    Thanks
    Mike

Picture two or four would be my choices. Preferrably two. I really don't think it would make any difference which one of the two were used, but two looks best.

Are the ball joints straight or angled? Gary

    I would say 4

  6. I think 4 looks best. If you really want the rod ends to be at a 90 degree angle pic 2 would then be best

4 looks best. A little turn in them isn't gonna make much matter in the direction they are turned as they don't work side to side in that axis. They will of course swing up and down then roll as the hairpins roll. I'd go with 4, as a matter of fact I did.

I don't think I was clear, but some rod ends used on bones / pins / 4-bars are available with angled shanks. The angles vary but using a pair with a slight angle might help square-up your mounting bracket with the edge of the frame. Gary
