Dead Man's Curve gig is OK if you dig cartoonish 5 feet high fake gassers!!! Too much '60's sort of stuff there to interest me in going back.....

I highly doubt it's free, they aren't having it at the farm, they have to pay for the venue.

Lead East is a great show but I stopped going in the 90's because of the promoter. I would rather get a root canal than put money in his pocket!

Head to head with Lead East might be tough, but sounds like a good time to me.

Stopped going to Lead East in the late 90's. It was our family vacation for many years through many venues!
It lost it's original focus as a 50's party in the late 90's, and we grew tired of the behind the scene changes. The fact that the hotel kept bumping up their rates didn't help either.
Terry Cooke still offers alot of bang for your buck that weekend, just not for us.
Good luck to folks at Dead Mans' Curve on Labor Day Weekend!

This solves the issue of the culture clash of hot rods and customs at the same event. Hot Rods in Mawah, Customs in Parsip.

Which place will the Razorback's be???

    Long Live Lead East!

  23. Anyone that has been to the Radir Wheels party in Boonton,
knows that the Deadmans Curve crew can throw a wild party.

I'm sure some of my Pinhead friends will be there.

    From: Deadmans curve
to: Our friends, associate members & fellow hot rodders

it has been brought to our attention by some people and through the internet that we, at dmc, are hosting our car event on the same weekend as L E as a spiteful act.

this couldn't be further from the truth.

we'd like to take this time to clear this up right away. We have nothing but the utmost respect for all who attend L E. We have, in the past years, participated and supported L E and had a lot of fun there too. But, because of so many requests for us to host our own weekend event, we decided to give it a shot.

After 17 years of hosting the hot rod party, the opportunity presented itself to continue through the weekend and we'd like the chance to make it happen.

Our event is not slated for the same weekend to compete with L E, but merely to accommodate many of our members and friends who will be in the area for the hot rod party, and because of economic reasons, couldn't afford other events. We also did it for those who wanted to participate in both events. Mahwah is just a short cruise up 287 north. So, whichever you decide to do, enjoy your choice and have a safe, fun-filled weekend!

We are looking forward to this new event. We have been to Lead East many many times over the last 15-16yrs but this looks like a good time. See you there.

the "insiders" always get their nose out of joint with terry cook ..I guess the requests for free A lot spots or free hotel rooms fell on deaf ears ....you just ain't that important

they just get replaced with new folks
and the show gets better all the time
