X2 100 low lead Small municipal airports around here will let you fill a 5 gallon gas can. Btw this fuel has a 5 year shelf life which works well in gas powered machines that sit long periods of time like generators and snow lowers.
Spencer's Speed Shop sells Sunoco 260GT, which is 100 octane unleaded race fuel. http://www.racegas.com/fuelfinder
be mindful that some petroleum engineers claim that 100 LL (avgas) is a bit dirtier in some ways than standard pump gas. I use it it regularly (LOL LOL...geez, I'm so clever sometimes) and have never had a problem. Heck I even ran 130-145 back when you could get it.
I can give you numerous reasons not to use av gas, but maybe the best is that most av gas does not have consistant specific gravity. In a small plane you can adjust the mixture based on EGTs. It does not have to be consistant. It will not hurt anything, but if you are looking for optimum HP use fuel that was made for racing. Because of the taxes it is also illegal for someone at the FBO to sell it to you to use in your car. I bet that if you google VP, Sunnoco, and Tracktek you will find a dealer near you. Shell racing also has a line of 100, 105, and 110 octane unleaded racing fuels. It is not cheap, but it is hard to find.
There was a local station that used to sell it... now I'm hunting for a new sourse as well... Anyone know of one in Canton Ohio area or has a link for dealers - I would appreciate it!
There's also that whole "$25,000 fine for running leaded fuel on the street" thing. I mean, sure, the odds of getting caught are very slim, but that's a lesson I don't wanna learn the hard way.
Ike's Airport Garage3220 Airport Rd.[across from the ABE Airport] Allentown Pa. Street legal 100 Octane Unleaded, 110 Octane leaded off road.
I'm in South Amboy, NJ. I've got Power Mist which is a real octane boost. A one gallon can will make 40 gallons of 103 octane from pump high test. I also have 5 gallon drums of Sunoco 110, 112 and 116 leaded, My number is 732-721-7445, give me a shout if I can help ya. Brian
I have a gas station two blocks away that sells unleaded race fuel right out of a pump. It's over 100 octane and $9/gal. Do a google search for your area. You might get lucky.
