I'd like to have a beer with my father. He passed away in 1985, and although not really a car guy, I can't think of anyone I'd rather share a beer with than him. He was a Marine during WWII, and a master carpenter. Taught me a lot and I miss him greatly.

My Grandfather who passed last Christmas, my Grandmother who was killed 2 years ago (although she would only occasionally drink a single wine cooler on New Years), and my kids........ All 3 of them...... That will be born early next year.

    Nice thread!

    This gal:
The repeal (of Prohibition) movement was started by a wealthy Republican, Pauline Sabin, who said that prohibition should be repealed because it made the US a nation of hypocrites and undermined its respect for the rule of law. Her fellow Republicans were put in office by the "drys" and, even though they eagerly partook in consumption of alcoholic beverages at her parties, in public they presented themselves as opposing the repeal of prohibition, lest they be thrown out of office by the dry voting blocks. This hypocrisy and the fact that women led the prohibition movement convinced her to start the organization that eventually led to the repeal of prohibition. When her fellow Republicans would not support her efforts, she went to the Democrats, who changed from drys led by conservative Democrats and Catholics to supporting repeal led by liberal politicians such as La Guardia and Franklin Roosevelt. She, and they, emphasized that repeal would generate enormous sums of much needed tax revenue, and weaken the base of organized crime.

  28. The guy who got me into Hot Rods at the age of 11 years 10 months old. My dad was a old school fella and early on taught me Point A to Point B daily driver mechanics maintainance but this drawing in his notebook of a engine with flames coming out it's exgarated headers was different................

He died between our junior/senior year of school leaving our popular small town hot rod hangout,... burnout,.... cops,.... ignorant young man showing off, and just like a cliche, he died right in front of our High School upon impact with the old oak tree.........

...wish you were here.....were just two lost souls.... swiming in a fish bowl..........
