What a hoot! Managed to pass tech inspection cause the tech guy was laughing so hard. Dialed in a 28.07 at 45.7 mph. Made it through 2 rounds of eliminations before i broke out of my time running a smoking 27.89. It was a hoot, and i was such a crowd favorite that they had me run an exhibition run before they ran the funny cars. I havent had that much fun ever. Here i am lined up next to my neighbors 34 pickup with a 650 horse sbc. And heres my launch

That's AWESOME!!!! I've drag raced my coupe a bunch of times too and it's so fun-I was running very similar times. Please bring that sucker to the hot rod eruption drags next month! I'll have my coupe and I have a few other banger cars coming too- it will be a blast!
The guy in the other lane must have been thinking,, "Geez I'm gonna have to wait a week before I can launch."
Last year at the eruption drags every time I would run my coupe, the other guys in my club would say "Jake's about to run, let's go grab a hot dog and a beer when he leaves the line-we'll be back in time to see the finish" Ha. Still fun.
That thing is fast! Way back when, Road & Track did humorous road tests now and then, like on steam locomotives, etc.. One funny test I remember was on an electric elephant... the ET was around 30 MINUTES! You are 60 times faster! Gary
