Projects `49-`51 Ford front clip- what interchanges??

Want to change the grill on a `51 to a `49-`50 style. Of course the hood must also be replaced. Talked to a guy who has a `49 that replaced his hood with a one from a `50. Said it took a little work, something about the hood hinges where they meet the fire wall.
Would a `50 work better on a `51 than a `49? Will the grill swap out? Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

the 50 hood would be a better choice as the hinges are the same on a 50-51. You also need the 50 hood apron, the piece that bolts to the front fenders that the hood latch mounts to.

The 50 hood latch panel is different from the 51..you could use the 51 fenders but you will need to modify them a bit to fit a 50 grille..

Sounds like it might be easier to swap out the whole front clip, is that possible?
