Here is a photo I found in my archives today. I was a picture taken back in the late 20's or early 30's. It is Doty Chevrolet in Long Beach and the whole staff had their picture taken for some promo back in the day. My grandfather worked there for may years. That's him peeking around from the back of the cab. I thought you might enjoy the photo.

  2. That is a great picture! The roadster is a 1928 Chevrolet, in case anyone needs to know.;) Thanks for posting it. I wonder what happened to the car, or who won it?

The little guy in front with the dark suit looks like he had an evil genius plan to take over the world involving some minions and a damsel. :D

Did anybody notice that most of the mechanics are wearing neckties? And most of the suits are either wearing or holding a hat.

Yes, clear up 'till the late '60's. Then fast food nation kicked in to overdrive. That should be the next 'trad' revival. Streamlined.

That dealership was only 7 blocks from the Pacific Ocean and it gets cold there in the fall and winter.

probably wool (comfy in any season and traditional) instead of the polyester heat retention in stuff nowadays.

we better discuss this over lunch.
