I am needing to order a new set of wheels and cocker WWW Bias Ply's for a 1949 Plymouth Business Coupe.

The car is getting lowered cut springs and blocks.

What is the best size wheels and tires to run? Does it matter on how low she will go?

Do you have a first or second series '49 Plymouth? The former looks like '46-48 Plymouths and the latter looks like '50-52 Plymouths, sort of. Second series rear fenders are very constricted, so you would need to keep the wheels and tires fairly narrow, like 195/75R-15 or equivalent. I don't think that is an issue with first series '49s.

How about measuring the backspacing on your wheels, the width of the wheels, and the wheel well spacing? All tire manufacturers have specs on their tire sizes, including tread width, overall width and tire height.

It's a second series...the later style. I'm lowering the car's ride height. Wheel and tire size has never occured to me.
