Well its been a haul trying to get this one on the road. Drives under its own power , first time since 1956. Now hook up the Columbia rear, some cleanup and install my Mercury caps after putting a few miles and retorqueing the rear axle nuts!!

Awesome, put some miles one that thing. It's got 56 years worth of driving to catch up on! Just got my 60 Pontiac moving under its own power again after 5 years of work. Feels great, still got a long way before it goes after then my gravel road.

Mine was parked in 1973. I have had it 17 years and waiting for my first drive under the mighty flatty power! Have fun.

  20. Congrats. I keep thinking one of these days I'm going to get to drive mine.

Well I love the way it sounds and drives. So far so good. My car was painted in 1952 not sure of color. It has very fine metal flake. I had it matched to do the wheels and 1 front fender. I need to still polish it and age the one fender

That's a killer car. Love the stance and color.

I can relate, with my '39. It was a prisoner of a barn, then garage, for over three decades before I got ahold of it.

I can vividly remember that first time I got it out on the road, last summer. I love my flathead, btw. Great sounding little cruising mill.

    Good job.

Congrats plumfat, I hope to be there next spring! I know mine was together in 1962 (see avatar) but after that........ Brought it home in may boxes.

  27. x2 - Can we get any details specs of front/rear axle, tire sizes, etc...?

  28. love it!! In 1957 at 12 years old I worked all summer and bought a 40 coach just like yours. even the same blue. It needed a valve job, but ran and was in great shape. A year later my older brother bought a wrecked 57 buick. The nailhead, tranny, rear end and wheels, brakes and much more of the Buick went into my ford. How I wish I had it now. I never had a car I liked as much. I was only 13 , and drove that car to a rural school almost all summer. Great times in northern anitoba. I want your car....ha!

  29. Good for you. Enjoy it!
