Does anyone else see the irony in this guy being bent out of shape went his user name and avatar are CLEARLY a nod to that hack, racist Micheal Richards' incident calling some hecklers at a show the N-word, just a few months before he joined?

And now for some actual useful information! Because I don't come to the HAMB to bitch and whine!!!

  4. Man. You really read into that one eh?

I like the fact that the only one not mentioning the title of the thread, is the OP. He hasn't even acknowledged, let alone apologized. I haven't seen any swear words in his posts, or anything that leads to the belief that the title spelling is anything but an accident.

Let's get over the title and let the man share his build.

By they way, looks good ArtGeco!

Box and gusset that frame please, maybe throw in a X-member or two. Be safe.

X 3.14r2 what Nads said about the frontend, those lap weld shackles won't stand the test of time.

do you guys bother reading a thread all the way through before commenting?

    yea I didn't think so...

go back and read, he said, yes he is going to box the frame, gusset the frame and the front set up is for mock up.

reading is more than looking at the pretty pictures guys.

Got some temporary floor supports in for my 2" channel.

Here I pulled the front up in the air so I could cut the channel into
    the front of the cowl.

Things got a little nutty when I leaned it forward to notch out the back of the cab.
    Real professional huh?

Anyway, here's the final ride height with channel complete.

Found some new holes under the bondo on the dash/gas tank.
    Deal with that tomorrow...

When I was younger I got "Sean Penn" a lot.

On the same note, a Buddy of mine is a dead ringer for Val Kilmer.
He's gotten to where he just signs autographs when asked. He finds it's
far less disappointing for the VK fans than telling them it's not him.

If you can't get the flathead ustuck with the way you are doing it, take and mix acetone and tranny fluid 50/50 and pour it in on top of the cylinders. It does smell like cat urine, but it works. Power steering fluid and acetone works also. It's less potent but doesn't smell so bad. When we went to taking my 57 apart to take it to the bodyshop, we squirted all the nuts and bolt we would have to remove with the concoction. They all came off nice and easy. I had a roto-tiller that was stuck tighter than 5 fingers in a frog's behind. After removing the spark-plug and squirting some down the hole and letting it set a few days, it was free. I rebuilt the carba dn put a bettery on it and pulled the rope and it wanted to run!!! This is only a suggestion, but if you want the flathead, give it a shot.

Wow, a 15" step in the rear. How are you planning to locate the rearend? I know from experience there's a whole lot of things that want to be in the same place with a set up like this.

Got my new "Stumpy's" Flathead engine stand adapter.

Motors soaking upside down now. Thanks for the advice, I took it.

Pan's pretty nasty but it cleaned up well and no rust.

I've been making some progress on this flathead.

Got the crank and pistons out (took 3 weeks of coersion).

    and only 3 casualties...

but still, this was a welcome sight.

After 2 weeks of research and building a "custom" tool I finally
got A (singular) valve and assembly out. I've learned a lot and
the rest should be easier. I did, however, break the guide.

    The "Custom" tool.

I went ahead and purchased a new gas cap.
    Sometime's it's the little things.

Well I got another valve out, this one took a little
over an hour but it came out bent. I've made the decision
to cut the rest of them out, they apparently aren't going to
be salvagable and the work it takes to get them out is ridiculous.

Soooo, I went ahead and pulled out all 48 studs.
I won't be going to the gym for a few days, I got my workout.

    With only one casualty.

And, to make matters worse I broke off an extractor
trying to get the sheered off stud out.
(you can also see it all of the above pics)

So, the valves decided to come out the hard way.
    (Damn, I'm fat!)

Anyway, they are all out now...

OK what did you do?? Looks like you cut them with a torch. How did you get the guides out after that?? I have three left in my 8BA that I can't budge. All the others came out with guides intact. Boy do they make a pop when the finally give up.

I've never seen the driveshaft go THRU the body on a traditional hotrod. Is this going to be a ratrod?
