    These never get any love, but I found them to be a nice looking car, in an odd sort of way.

    The 61 Continental is my favorite year, but the 60 Ford Galaxy is a beauty and really doesn't get much radio play...

    This Mopar was once stored in a dealership in my hometown of Bloomington, Illinois, at the McAtee Dodge dealership.

    I like the 60 Starliner more than the 61 but would take the styling of the 60 Edsel HT over both. The ass looks better IMO. And I like the grill too. Basically the same car, I guess but it flows better.

    I'm into Mopars but my vote would be '61 Starliner.

    Thanks for giving a nod to the 1960 Fords. I've been driving a Fairlane 500 for many years. It's probably the weirdest Ford of the 60's, sharing very little DNA with any other Ford in terms of design, aside from the 61 T-bird. I read that the fins actually made the car slightly too wide to be street legal. I love the bright stainless fins though! Makes the car super easy to park and maneuver because all the corners are visible and marked. I got so good at parking it, I could put it within an inch of the garage door without any hassle.

  23. Overblown, vague thread title. I only mention in light of the ridiculous insular hatred as posted. When one thinks early '60's beauty, one does not first think of USA.
    In this era, first for fun, perhaps. True beauty has already been mentioned, and howled down ( for being un- American).

    Read the thread title. Bracing for more macho charm & hideous Mopars

    Amended list;

    First Corvair sedan
    First Falcon sedan
    I've already mentioned Mustang. #1?

    Honourable mentions to the little Rambler, especially in light of what they had to work with- and; GT Hawk Stude- As for Avanti?- great fun & appeal (assymetry & detail forms), but held back by it's underpinnings. A slicked-off version (ala 'Stupidbaker') may get close.

    A primered 63 Wartberg is my dream car....

  25. The beauty of the clean lines of the early 60's T-birds. The best looking birds of them all (in my book).

    62 Poncho
    62 Impala SS
    63 vette

  27. 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. By far the best looking Cadillac of the 60's and a custom at the same time.
