Offenhauser valve cover later Chevy 6

    Anybody have any issues installing one of these?Holes don't line up,some are about a third of a hole off.

    i think those only fit 235's n 250's, i could be wrong

    I really struggled with one on a 292 also. had to oblong the holes with a die grinder and grind on the inside of the cover to clear the retainers but I did get it to work.

    Sometimes when you use an aftermarket valve cover on the 250-292 you need to use a spacer between the thermostat housing and the block because of interference. That could be your misalignment.

    I h ad to file a few of the holes to make it fit on mine. they asrent the most accurate pieces around. I used Studs to install mine.

    The Offy cover for the 194-292 engines is the worst fitting of all of them. A better choice would be the Clifford version, or the Mercuiser ones. Or get an adapter to use the 235 style Offy cover.

    Start by laying the gasket on the valve cover if it's off there but lines up on the head, the problem is..............? The thermostat housing shouldn't interfere with the cover. Sometime manufacturers don't keep up with quality control. :)

    As much as they cost Offenhauser should have somebody comeover and install the damn thing for you...overpriced crap
