The only material I find for the Model A coupe is the Long Grain Cobra, sold by Mac's in kit form. I'm looking for something that looks a little smoother. Less grain to it. Any suggestions ?
We did my coupe with vinyl top material. did a friends sedan with the same but shop ordered the material sewn on each side because it was not wide enough to cover . Both tops came out very good.
Check out Juliano's top kits. The material is smoother that the original style LeBarron-Bonney long grain Model A top insert in my 1930 Coupe. Here is a pic of the Juliano's top kit used on my '34 5-window Coupe. www.julianos.com Jim
Any good quality marine vinyl will work well. Use a good pad under it and hi temp rated glue. I checked into them but didn't like the Julianos kits the molding sticks up way too tall IMO. Again a good quality hidem welt works nice. Here is a pic I did of mine (I had never done one before and it turned out really nice)
