I'm really torn on what is the right combo or wheel color is for my 54 Chevy. I'm happy with the cream color thats on the wheels now but I keep wondering what if. Let me know what you think. Stay with what I have or paint wheels like body color, red, or something else. It will be fun to hear some other ideas. Also if anyone has a program that they could change the color or the wheels all together that would be cool. Thanks guys.

After some good ideas and opinions I have stayed with the wheels and tires and just lowered the rear. Here it is now. Also installed my rocker moldings.

    whitewalls would be nice.
I'd stay creme over body paint color.

Here's somewhat of a climps of what you would see if you painted the wheels the same as the body.

I probably got the width wrong, though

I like the look with the white walls but it looks like I would have to lower the rear the too.

I have cream on mine, but I think yours would look better body color!

  10. I like the creme color on the wheels. You can get too wide with whitewalls and regret it.

Agreed. I wouldn't go with anymore than the 3.5" ones.

MY two cents-----I would leave black wall tires with the cream wheels with the small caps and beauty rings; I think that it looks great that way---I think with that wheel combo and wide whites it takes away from the looks of the car...Ray...

Like them how they are but would consider a blue pin stripe on the cream wheels.

The cream color looks nice, and I like the black walls too. Leave it alone and drive it.

    Chad,

I am digging what you did here, but what about black rims, whitewalls and no caps???? Hope you are well!

    YO E!!!

I think the body color and wheel color need to contrast. To me it just looks better that way. Now sometimes I do like the same color wheels/body. But not often. I like a good complimentary color. I think the creme wheels look fine, I just don't like blackwalls on a 50s car. JMO!

Thanks for all the input. I'm glad that most everybody is liking the wheel color. It looks like it comes down to tires and stance.

Squat down and take a few pictures of the car from about 2 feet above the ground. And stand back a ways, and zoom in on the car, and take them from more of an angle, both from the front and the rear.

You know, the way we actually look at cars :)

btw I like it as it is, from what I can see.

No, just trying to help you get some better pictures of your car, so we can get a better idea of what it looks like. Photography is tricky...I've been trying for about 40 years and still don't do very well.

Gotcha. My Dad took them and thats the only pictures I have right now. I'll have to take some time and get some better shots of it.

Ok, I dig the cream wheels and black walls, but I would drop it just a hair in the back to compliment the front. Right now you have the nose down, that's "hot rod", and that screams for blackwalls and small caps. If the tail was down lower than the front (silly lookin' in my humble opinion...) then you would be in "custom" territory, and ugly white walls would be a fit... Stay on the dark side! (just drop the tail a touch, trust me on this one!)

Of all that I've seen and heard here, my preference would be the combo in the 1st picture that you showed us. The wheel color is good and the caps and rings with the blackwalls look good too. It appears that you are running big and littles and your car has a nice stance as it sits... Cool ride!
