Pics seem to show a very solid car for any part of the US, and must be rare in that condition where you are.

The market is all over the place on projects and even done cars, but complete trim set, spare dash which has good value, with usable chrome on the bumpers, little rot if any, it can't be worth less than what was said in post 2.

If I was looking for a 56 2dr ht in solid shape, here in the rust belt, I might go 2500 or perhaps 3000, only because I already have the engine/std trans for one.

I'd convert it to std trans, Olds 324. :)..actually a J2 motor, come to think of it

Edit, I just posted my pricing while you did the 2800 post, so I was not that far off...I guess..

If the bumpers are rotten on the ends, especially the rears, they're near impossible to replace. A clean title is a huge deal depending on the state.

I think $2800 is high for a car that's all taken apart and has no drivetrain. "All the parts are there" are famous last words too. $1500 sounds fair to me.

Either something's jacked with that rear axle or the passenger rear wheel isn't bolted up...

Looks like it might have had all the body work done to it.. I'd offer $2000, if it were a 55 I'd be all over it, the extra dash should bring $300 if it's in good shape!!

Is it rust free inside and out?

I am not feeling it at all for much over scrap or price of parting out BUT I am not looking for a stripped 1956 Oldsmobile project.

$2500 would sound nice to me. Up north thats fair!

  11. I think 2500 - 2800 would be ok if you get all of the parts too. I'm from Mich. Rust free is a miracle in Mich. Buy it. It'll only go up in value and might be fun to work on too, buy it.

by the photos it looks solid
the less metal work you have to do it's worth a lot
if the 56 Olds has a title and you like the car

his $2,800 b/o price is a starting point
make a counter offer then you both can go from there
when you get to his final price you'll buy it or walk away

just noticed the final price $2,500 that's not much of a drop
give him your phone if he decides changes his mind
    tell him to call you

Looks to me like its had at least 3 bits of metal added to the floor and inside of drivers door shows original blue paint.Flat black paint is like the old gray primer...makes me wonder whats underneath.
Less rust than normal for a rust belt car as far as the floor but there is a whole lot of car to inspect.
$1500 if it has a title.
