Well... Granted that Manhattan is about an hour from Salina, but with how this summer has been going, I'd say that it would probably be wisest to prepare for hot temperatures like we've been having. I always like to prepare for the worst, especially living in Kansas, and that way, if it is actually a right forecast, then you are prepared just fine. But if it's 105 degrees, then you're good there too.

A month away ???? Meteorologists have a tough time forcasting accurately two DAYS away!

When I die, I want to return as a Meteorologist - flip a coin, throw a dart at a dart board and take the rest of the day off. :D

Last year when we arrived at the motel, the clerk said "You guys got here just in time, it's goin' to be cooler today". It was 112, but she was right, it was 114 the day before. "But it's not so much the heat, it's the humidity!" Oh yea, it was 99 at midnight, as we sat outside in the parking lot. Good times.

Forecast for Salina as follows: Hot as fuck with a chance of miserable ! At least there's a shit ton of cool cars to help distract. I sure wish they'd move this thing to a more resonable time of year...

It'll be hot, most likely. This is Kansas, after all.

That might be easier said than done...it seems as if it turns warm/hot in May and stays that way till late October...then it just jumps into winter

i decided that working on the car in a tin shed in 100+ temps would weather me for Salina. Find some shade and a drink and be good to go :)

Forget those rumors...Kansas is never hot or sticky, Oh, and about those tornadoes, they are just gentle guts of wind.
