Well everyone this is my first build thread and also my first dragster build. I have been reading everything i can about front engine dragsters. I have contacted several guys over the last year from this site all have been extreamly helpful. Thanks Rooman, David beard Dragster supply, swampdonkey, and 61cad. This build will be a early 60's style 120" front engine dragster small block chevy standard shift car. I have decided to build my own chassis which i will be starting next week. Im using some non conventional drive line componants. The purpose of this build was to use up what was left in my shop after a long eastcoast dirt modified career. the car is being built to cert 7.50 and slower looking to run some nostalgia events and vintage style drags my goal is a solid 10 sec car. I have a soild 358 dirt mod motor putting out a dynoed 550 hp on gas looking to run this car on alky. I have followed several builds on this site like Zorbas ghost, the hilo hustler and several others and cant wait to get started. Here are a few drive line pics.

Sounds good so far!!! Still gathering parts for my FED as well!!! Start posting pics when you start the chassis build!!

I'm looking at about 150" WB on mine, 454BBC Tunnel rammed, Powerglide, 9" rear...Hardest part I'm having is finding some older real American speed parts..will not buy this new China repop crap!!

The build is comming along picked up a moon puke tank with breathers thanks dickster here on the hamb. putting a sump on my 3 1/2 gal fuel tank and adding a vent and return port for fuel injection, going to run a water pump with a oil water heat exchanger. Also found a aircraft fuel filter my father used to run in his 427 ford injected modified. So my plan to use up as much shop equipment is comming along. I opted to have the chassis professionally built so David Beard of preformance automotive welding , He also owns dragster supply in merrimack NH is building the chassis in vintage kent fuller style. David does both repairs , new car construction and is capable of doing all your fabrication needs. I will be going up this weekend for my first fitting. Pictures to follow.

Awesome. You might be able to contact a local motorcycle shop to get a line on wire front wheels. That was a pretty common way to get them in the '60s.

Great build. I like the direction so far! And great choice of name for it.

Here are a few pics of the chassis under construction. David Beards workmanship is fantastic. I love the vintage style of the chassis. The chassis will be on display at the nostalgia drags at oxford maine on july 7. Vintage fuller style.
