Growing up in a small town with my father as the county sheriff in the '60s, Andy always reminded me of my dad who is just a couple of years older. I still love to watch that show.

Lost Goober and Andy in the same year. As me and a co-worker were just talking about, the day will come when you won't find the Andy Griffith show anywhere on tv, or Lord Forbid, they try to make a movie with new people and no values. RIP Mr. Griffith.

I always enjoy a walk down by the lake or through the woods while whistling the theme. You will be missed "Ang" but never forgotten.

This is the first I'd heard about Andy Griffith's passing. Always liked him.

Very sad day for sure. I must have watched every episode of the Andy Griffith show a 100 time or more.

We have lost a lot of history this year. To many to list.
The original cast can make some new episodes now that they are back together again...
    God speed Andy.

For those of us now in there '50s and '60s, people like Andy Griffith have always been part of our life, so when they leave us, it's like losing a member of the family. Andy was a GREAT actor who entertained us all as Sheriff Taylor and Attorney Ben Matlock.

Mr. C. although the show was funny I to later in my life have appreciated the moral values. My favorite was probably the the "Mr McBeevee" episode where when he came down from Opie's room and Barney and Aunt Bee asked did he spank him or give him a stern lecture. Andy said something like
Andy: "No I told him I believed him"
Barney: "But Andy you dont really believe a story about a man walking in the trees do you?"
Andy: No I dont believe that. BUT i do believe in Opie.

Damn I dont care. You have to be strange not to be impacted by what Andy says from 1:39 to about 2:40 mark.. I searched and found it on youtube. Godspeed Mr Griffith for showing the world a few things about morals

  24. Man, that's sad news.
Thanks for the pleasure of growing up with you, Barn, Aunt Bea, Opie, Floyd, Otis, Goober and Gomer. Your's is a legacy of family values, timeless humor and a simpler way of life. Those old episodes will be even more appreciated.
    Rest in Peace.

One of the few actors that, upon hearing of their passing, really and truely saddens me.

RIP Andy. Say howdy to Barney and Goober for me.
