i have a 1956 cadillac and i am going to disc brakes. The disc brake kit lists it needs disc brake 15" wheels and i want to run the factory caps. The deep offset is the problem without having wheels custom built. anyone have any ideas of a deep offset 15" 5x5 lug pattern wheel that will clear disc brakes? I know 65 cadillac wheels will hold a 56 cap but i am not sure if they will clear disc brakes. any ideas or suggestions? Thanks ahead of time Jeff
try mid 80's chevy truck/vans might find some with better offsets, i had some rallies that were offset different that the ones on front, factory??
dont really need wider just deep offset with enough room for a disc... i will try those. i know someone who has a spare i can try. any other ideas?
or maybe some old aftermarket chrome wheels, nuggets, wagon ya know all those cheap ass rims from the 80-90's,'cause your gonna hide em anyway--chuck
Wheel kid heard your stuff is the best. Can you pm me s price or contact info so i can get some info.
Why won't a 15" '65-ish Cadillac wheel clear? Caddy caps seem to only fit Caddy rims unless you rig some other way to hold them on. That said, Caddy RWD used 15" 5x5 rims right into the 1990s, except maybe for the smaller Seville of the 70s-80s.
That is what wheel spacers are made for. If your wheel doesn't clear the caliper you put a wheel spacer in there.
Just look for aftermarket wheels. Go to Summitracing.com, punch in the size you want, the lug pattern you want, and the offset you need to get those hubcaps on and you'll find what you need. I popped a set of '62 Caddy hubcaps on my 1985 Chevy 1/2 ton with 8" factory rally wheels just to see if they'd fit and they did, so that is the front spacing you need. My truck is sitting in my parking lot right now - if you want me to walk out and measure the front spacing I will.
