I was out driving and enjoying my 36' Ford Coupe when the original gearbox decided to lock up. I don't have the time or place right now to remove and rebuild it and am looking for an expert with these gearboxes in Phoenix. Send me a PM if you are one or know of one..Thanks..Jason 602-684-6712

I don't have an answer for you, but I would think ANY reputable trans shop could take care of it. These are about the most basic trans built, and stayed pretty much the same through the mid sixties. Good luck.

www.vanpeltsales.com will have most of the parts if you need 'em.

You might give Steve at A-1 Differential a call 602-863-0321. If it has gears in it he knows someone who can fix it.

I'll second Ernie at Save On... Damn nice guy and knowlegable as all get out. But he does work with mostly auto trans stuff. If you can't get help through him, give me a P.M., 'cause I have someone that I know can get the job done for you.

Ernie just did a 39 style box in a 37 PU a week or 2 ago. He is the only shop in Phoenix that I trust to do any trans jobs that I can't. Been using their shop since the early 80s.

We're finishing up a 39 style toploader right now that is going on the shelf for sale. We always leave the rear support off til we know which chassis it will go into. Keep it in mind if the local guys can't get you up and running on one........Mac VP
