Weather you like this Foose designed Marcel built Ford or not is another discussion but I like the nerf bar!
I lifted the following from another thread. I like stuff, whether you call them bumpers or nerf bars that give people pause when they see 'em, ala Mad Max, if you will. And, this one, makes it. Re: Jim "JAKE" Jacobs, The Original Traditional Hot Rodder ! "TRODA" <hr style="color:#e5e5e5; background-color:#e5e5e5" size="1"> I caught him driving this '34 Fordor not too long ago.
Nerfs are worthy of significant time being spent on design & execution... they are the 'intro' to the car. The Mc Coy front is perfect. IMO A wider rear nerf would have appeared to be more considered.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us The day I bought this old warrior I knew there would be four classic nerf bars installed on it! Fat Fords are perfect for nerfs! Just haven't ordered them yet. Taking out 65 year old bumper bolts from the rear was a chore! I had an idea about tying the two nerfs in back together with a straight piece of 3/4" rod, but the more I think about it, the more I think simpler is better. Anyone got pics of nerfs on their fat Fords? Wondering if there are any new ideas out there.

That was killer reading for sure, especially the first pic. For myself, not being from that time period has me baffled sometimes. I've had guy's tell me nice "nerf" you have on your 56. I just think to myself it's a "spreader bar" that I made just to satisfy the cop's.
Ed Wards 32 roadster im working on. the rear nerf bar is a little clunky and we will be making a new on that "fits" better. JEFF
They do help getting in and out, we used to "gentleman race" these cars on dirt, they do help keep the wheels from getting tangled as well.
This is what I made for my 34 sedan - gone fenderless so they just hanging on the wall in the the workshop now ! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
