Good on ya choptvan, the best assignment of my career was at Peterson AFB 1976-82. So sad to see all the damage. It's a good thing trees grow back and houses can be rebuilt. Hopefully all the people and animals leave ahead of the fires.

thoughts go out to those effected, we had the same thing here in Melbourne a couple of years ago. Its a really scary feeling sitting at work watching the internet updates waiting to read your house is in the "hot zone".

Thats the second offer for beer! Thanks man! No really. I am not doing much. I wish I was able to do more. To broke to buy stuff to donate, so this was a good alternative. Again, I am glad it helped at least one person so far.

bttt. just got a little rain here in grand co. not a lot but anything helps. Pics on the news are heartbreaking. Here of new fire in parachute and I-70 closed. Pray for rain as we are getting close to 1000 buildings lost between all the fires.

5% will be more like 20%.. they always keep the number low in case they lose some ground and save face in the media.

Either way.. tons of resources are being sent to the whole state of CO. to get these fires wrapped up !!

Nothing much to add here but my sympathy, and another free bump!! Thanks to everyone that is stepping up to help those that need places to stay, storage space, or help to get out whatever personal belongings that they can. We went through some tough fires last year, and being one of those people that ride on the trucks and try to put the fires out (volunteer firefighter for the last 15 years), be sure to thank a firefighter for what he does !!! Chances are, if he/she is a volunteer like the fire dept. that I am on, those "Thank You"'s will be the only thing that they will get in return. Pray for rain .... gentle soaking rains !!!!!!

I think I have said that a few hundred times today already!

    bumpity bump bump

  28. My wife and I were there Tuesday when it really took off and started its rampage toward the town. We stood with good friends as we watched their homes burn to the ground from the other side of the highway. I've been in Colorado all my wife, dealt with many wildfires, never have I seen this kind of power and descruction.

Nice of you to offer this. Thankyou
