Event Coverage ++PHOTOS... european hot rod & custom show, Belgium ++

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lowtech, Jun 28, 2012.

  1. There's a new show in Europe. And being the curious ones we are, we had to check it out. So we drove up to the little village of Chimay in Belgium and spent a fun weekend at the old Chimay race track.

Here are some of my pics from the weekend. Or click here for the slideshow:

This just proves once again that cool cars are a universal language! And the the HAMB is the vehicle (pun intended)

I watched the vedio that was on another HAMB thread, outstanding vehicles. My question is, are most of the cars ones that were imported from the USA or built over there, not that it really matters they all look like they would fit right in here along with their owners. Bob

Any idea who that artist is? dont normally see cool lowbrow kustom kulture stuff this side of the atlantic.

  13. That's difficult to tell. I'd guess most of the cars were built over here. But where do you draw the line – if necessary at all. Take that black sprint car for example. Built and raced in the USA, imported to Europe where the entire drive train was replaced, a new shell and cowl were fabricated from scratch and the car was repainted, lettered and detailed. Where was it built now? Of course, there are a lot of finished hot rods and kustoms being imported. But they're still outnumbered by the cars built over here. Sure there's no scientific prove for this. Just my opinion based on my perception.

    sorry, no idea.

  20. Chimay? Isn't that where the monastary is where the monks brew that tasty ale? Plus they have a race track and a dandy car show from the looks of it. Sounds like a little slice of heaven! :D

Thanks for sharing the great pics. And thank the monks for the wonderful brew! ;)

  21. A couple of evening shots.
