How's the auto business treating you?

Auto business is poor. Not been working on my project either. Sold my truck at the Roundup in April so I really need to get my butt in gear and build my Fleetline. Post up some progress pics when you can. Best to you, my friend.

Well a couple weeks ago I pulled the truck back into the garage. Last night was the first night I've had any time to work on it, and after procrastinating for a while thinking about how horrible it's going to be to fix this floor/rocker/pillar, I actually got a lot done. The truck actually has a lower a-pillar and outer rocker now! Maybe I'll take some pictures soon ha.

That's great. Noticed you had the truck for sale. Did you decide to keep it? Selling my 51 fleetline. Bought a 49 chevy 2 door sedan. It's a driver with a later 235 and floor shifted 3 speed. Wanted something to drive again and the Fleetline was going to be a long term project. Still a lot I want to do to the 49 but I can do it while driving it for a while, then pull it off the road to make major changes later.

Well I haven't had any calls or offers on it, so I figured I would fix the floor and put it all back together and then I can decide if I want to keep it or sell it.

    Got some more done:

Thanks man I gotta find one to replace the one I used on my bike though!

Got the floors all patched up on the passenger side. Still got a couple small spots on the drivers side, but I did put my new wheels and tires on today!

I like the wheels and tires. Are you driving the truck now?

Not yet, still got a little floor work, little passenger fender work, and have to put the new gas tank in and make a temporary cover for the seat.

I did drive it down the gravel road to my neighbor's house the other day, so it was nice to actually leave the driveway for once... even if it is just on a 5 gallon bucket!

I don't know yet... I've got a room reserved, but may be too busy with a project I'm managing in Ft Worth at that time...

Yes, but I'm not going back to the round up again without driving something old to get there... and I don't know if I'll be in the right place to make that happen.

As you may have guessed, the focus of this project has kind of changed since the first post. While at first I had high hopes of building a clean, nicely painted, watson-esque show truck that I could daily drive, I have not had the time or money to sink into the truck to build it like that... At this point I just want an old truck that I can drive where ever whenever I want. I'm ok with the body how it is for now and my new goal will be to make this truck a daily driver with a nice low static drop.

Stay tuned and maybe I'll be able to keep this thread a little more updated...

I'd like to get the front a little lower, but as you can see the torsion bar bolts are by far the lowest part of the truck. They drag pretty bad on the crown of my gravel driveway, so I'm going to try and do something about that soon.

Well I decided I wanted to put some gauges in the truck so I can keep an eye on things. Went ahead and mounted them in the cluster to replace the dummy lights. Nice and clean, and I should be able to watch them better in this location. ImageUploadedByTJJ1365219280.121803.jpg
