Finally got my 36 Roadster painted...for $200

and I'll be your not afraid to drive it either, very nice!!

I don't like you. But if you find a similar deal on Omni black paint, then pack up your gear, drive to Illinois and pull a similar miracle on my '47 Chevy...I may start to like you.

Beautiful job ! I have to say all winter @ 50.00 per bodyshop hour is $7800.00 easy.
Welding wire,Argon or CO2 or acetylene? Electricity? Metal?
Primer and blocking? Bondo? Sandpaper?
I love it but I'm laughing at the idea of a $200.00 Paint job Unless you always work for free like I do?

I saw it at BTT50's and thought it must have been the blue one at the Messaround.It really looks good!

 

I usually spend two hundred on Sandpaper! Rage Gold filler here is 60 bucks a gallon! I was thinking next time of trying a paint other than DuPont or Ppg...a lesser known brand. The 250 a gallon paint is just ridiculous. I was even thinking of a brush job......misfired, very old school looking. Love the lines on your ride, I'd have a smile a yard wide driving that beauty!

 

Nice job on the car. I saw it at BTTF and was impressed even before I knew about the paint.

From the title of the thread, I was expecting rustolum and a roller.

 

Several years ago I bought a system from TP tools. With that, I got suction feed and gravity feed guns. I was frustrated with the guns and ended up buying a Fuji gravity feed gun. A million times better ! The TP gun is used now only for primer.

Very nice!! I like that for what some people pay to PRIMER their car you have yours in paint. Good for you!!

 

We used a lot of Omni when I was in school a few years back. It's very good paint for beginners, lays out nice and is forgiving to spray - especially their single stage. The only complaint is that it's usually not as durable and tends to fade out faster, so just take care of it well.

What do you estimate you spent on the whole project, from bare metal to topcoat, including
stuff like filler metal and welding gas? That stuff adds up.
