Hi Hambers, What do you know about the Manuel Gonzales' 40 Ford Deluxe Coupe, Lost Hot-rod ?... This car was part of the cover of Car Craft Mag' October 1956, tittled "Secrets of flame painting" With the Famous Bob McCoy's '40 sedan... I'm interested about the early 50's flame-painting designs, and would to know when this '40 have been customized then painted by Von Duch ? I would also like to see more pictures or threads about this car...? The car on the top of the cover hold a car-club plate named "Pharaos"... Maybe Manuel Gonzales was a member of this car-club at this time ? Thanks for your answers !
I remember the issue, had a used copy, but don't know much about the Manual Gonzales car...Bob McCoy's sedan was probably more famous...he later went on to drive sprint cars and recently did some car art, think he is still around? Hope you find an answer, the Gonzales car is really cool, around '56, Von Dutch-style flames were starting to get popular...
I got an used copy too, but it shows only another front view... I'm curious to see a side view of this car or whatever you got It might be showed in car-shows or similar event a the time certainly at "Pharaos" car club historical State ? This car couldn't spend the time invisible... I believe someone got some pics Maybe Mr Gonzales is still alive ?...
Bump... That must be the coolest early flamejob I've seen. IMHO it looks soo much better than the one on McCoy's car!
Yes, the flame design looks better than the Mc coy's... I love it. -Still looking for more infos and pics about this Car ! Thanks !
