Thank you guys for the trust in my work. Is there anything more fulfilling than being able to say, "yes, I built that car" ......I think not.

Sorry Steve.....I've had a busy week with regular work and doing the front garden, which the mrs appreciated. (you know, happy wife, happy life.) But I'll be back in the garage tomorrow!

 

Beautiful impressive work!

 

Got home very late last night and found this massive , armoured like, package in the hallway. The rear window garnish moulding! It's a generous gift from Allen (Smokeybear here on the Hamb) who wouldn't allow me to pay for. "Just pay for the shipping and it's yours my friend". That's what the Hamb spirit is all about!

So got up early to unpack the moulding. It's in an awesome condition! (and a cool little note). Test fitted it first, and yes, it fits perfectly. (even though it's from a 48 Plym I believe). Then spent the next hour with sandpaper to clean it up and gave it a coat of zinc. Looks like new again.

Thank you again Allen for the awesome gesture! You have certainly helped me out in a big way!

That's Awesome!!! It's a shame the rest of the world can't be as friendly and willing to help as HAMBers are.

Spent the afternoon welding and hammering away at my outer trunk shell. Even though the progress may be a little difficult to spot, but I worked up quite a sweat. It's turning out nicely and should have it finished this week.

 

Yeah,thats a great spirit.If you dont count hamb,its almost impossible to see it in anywhere.

 

Eric, it's clear to see what you pushed today, i know something from let dings and dents disappear! i think you sweated quite a lot done fine, mate!

Thank you my friend. In order to get it even better/smoother, I'm going to make myself a "slapper" (basically a flat piece of steel with a handle) for the final touch. This, together with some heat shrinking, should do the trick.

Thank you hemi v8! I hope to have some more time next week.....it's been fairly hectic around the house lately with a lot of garden work.....but soon I will be pounding that metal again!

About that heat shrinking,are you going to do it by a torch?
I bought a shrinking disc,i guess it will be useful soon.Damn gas is just too expensive in here,so i try to figure out other methods when its possible.
