    That chassis looks saveable Randaddy.

  2. It's pretty rough, rusted through at some of the welds. I have talked to the owner who used to race the car......it is not for sale unless someone wants to come up with some serious money..... emotional attachement as well as advertisement for his business. He has some others and has offered to show them to me next time I get over his way. I'm hoping to do that in a week or two and if he allows, I'll take pictures.

It would be pretty hard to make a possitive ID without more detailed pictures. I am seeing some resemblance to the COLOR M[IMG]E GONE F/C. Wasn't Roger Lindermood from Detroit?

There were a few of these old Charger Funny Cars...
Don Schumacher had one called "Stardust"
Roger Lindamood had "Color Me Gone"
Mr. Norm had the Grand Spaulding Dodge Charger
Al Greaber had "Tickle Me Pink" (it's been found)
    just to name a few

That's the correct body alright, it was Doug Jordan's and Ernie Spickler's Hell's Cargo AA/FC from Denver. That was one pretty car at one time, it was painted by John Pugh in Denver.
Doug lives in Buena Vista Colorado and still has a nitro funny car to this day. Ernie Spickler lives in Las Vegas.
The tale tale to that being the body at first glance is Pugh only airbrushed single headlights in the grille.... I remember seeing the car when they painted it and thought it should have dual headlights being it was a 77 Firebird but they were trying to give it the newer look because 80 Firebirds had single headlights.
That was also the very first Jolly Rancher candies sponsored Funny Car... long before John Force and Brad Anderson were sponsored by the candy company.

The Mexican Revolution fuel funny car is no more. Bobby Rex (owner of the body only) has had the chassis pulled from him so all he has is the body. What a damn shame. Chime in old funny car owners!

I don't know if you'd call these abandoned , perhaps "retired" would be a better term .

  21. A friend of mine still has this old H/Gasser that he built as a kid and raced at San Fernando. It ran a 4 carb equipped full race flathead with plenty of setback. It was pulled out of a junk yard and built into a race car, The yellow pen writing from the junkyard is still on it. It ran in the 14's at 99mph.

  24. Love the hand built headers and traction bars - very cool bit of history there.

Unfortunately you are correct, NOT FOR SALE. I know the owner and have spoke to him at length but he's not ready to part with it. Too many family memories....I check in every so often to see if the tide has changed but so far no luck in 20 plus years.

QUOTE=TFoch;7666801]This alky Camaro has been sitting in the driveway for many many years. Rumor has it that it is not for sale:(

This dragster was found last year, abandoned hanging in a shed.
Its owner had not touched it for more than twenty years.

Ive got it at home now.
The previous owner tells me it has been back half'd probably sinced it was last used.
That is making it difficult to find who's it might have been.
I'd love to know its full history as I would like to restore it.

Nice find Jeff. What engine do you think you will put in it? It looks like the block plate is virgin and theres no front motor mounts so you can do anything.
