What this? Just some old '55 chevy race car pulled out of a barn. Something about '72 IHRA champ and multiple record holder. Brought back to life by Skeeter with '69Z 375 horse 350 fully rebuilt (by club member Shawn M. aka the engine-eer) to break hearts and rear ends. Brought back to life again for the first time in forty or so years. Click for video. That's not enough? How about a racy 331 Cadillac with cam, high compression, three carbs, original Hildebrandts, and beefed up La Salle trans? Oh and glossy black for that sinister look. Oh yeah, almost forgot. It's now in its new home, custom '49 merc chassis also sinister glossy black. This car will be a game changer. For real. The ever talented genius JeremyJames (aka the wind beneath my wings). That just happened. If you don't come to our shop nights, it must be only because you're on the road following Molly Hatchet around. What else could be more exciting? Nothing, that's what. And that's not all. More exciting stuff to come. Y'all stay tuned. Concord is the new socal. And Tokyo. All rolled into a rainbow.
Thanks for the update from Austin East! Y'all are single-handedly redefining "east coast style", and I for one am grateful! I know JJ is getting close with the Wizard, Del is on the cusp of greatness with the '54, Mikey is about to unleash the Nailhead Titans in his coupe, Shoo-Shoo and his coupe are well on the way, andYou have the "King" awaiting it's throne.....alll we need now is an honest-to-goodness update from Boobie on the Buick Skylark/401 Gasser! Boobie?!?!?!?!
Boobs was actually doing some work on his Plymouth last night. Cutting up some other hood to graft onto his hood.
Can't one of you pricks taking video last night post this thing running? The smile on Skeeter's face made it all worth it!
SO proud of Skeeter!! He's busted his hump to get this thing running and it's coming together perfectly!!! From the video it sounds all types of nasty! Congrats dude and keep forging ahead.
Mine was running exactly when Skeeter's was only you couldn't hear it because it's a wee little 265 that's more like a baby kitten compared to that Lion he has under his hood. Shut up and stop asking.
Wednesday Evening after 6pm at the shop a few Iron Lords rent out. It's open to anybody that wants to come and hang out. Basically an open house to come talk hot rods and customs with like minded people. Shop is located in Concord, NC
One of these days I gotta get off my ass and get my engine together. Too bad I don't have help like these guys, things would go together a hell of a lot faster.
Yes!!! I am so happy for skeeter, he worked his ass off on this car. I hate that I missed it starting up. Hopefully ill be there for the first burnout or wheelstand!
Sensitive? If by sensitive you mean a man who's favorite movie is The Notebook and weeps anytime someone even mentions Bridges of Madison County then yes. But not so much about me still working on my car so I can drive it. It is what it is.
