Well i'm pretty sure the cowl is off a 28 Pontiac, the back half is a early 50s Ford truck hood with a late 30s chevy split hood for rear quarters and i'm starting to cut up an late 40s chevy truck cab for the doors. Leading the way is an Oliver grill thats gonna have a widened Model A hood. I actually only have about $300 in the body total.. The tires were the most expensive part of this build.

That wheel looks good even if it isn't everyone's thing. And thanks for reminding me once again that I need to get my ass in gear on my roadster project if I ever want to be able to drive it.

  4. sygreaser,

What did you use for the lower half of the tail?

    Thanks, Mac

Late 30s Chevy hood split down the top then flipped them 90 degrees and welded them to the bottom of the Ford hood.

I really like the design of the body but I'm still not a fan of the tractor grille.

It somehow seems too "heavy" in its current form to be the leading edge of what otherwise appears to be a sporty roadster. With all of the other panel modification that has happened on this car, it would seem to be not a huge task to lighten up the grille by taking some of the visual mass out of it.

    UPDATE:

Just got back from the March Meet swap meet and purchased a pair of coil overs for $70 and some $5 seat belts.. Now I got these seat belts because they looked similar to vintage air craft belts. they are a matching pair that were wrapped in tape and labeled "64 dodge". How ever when I got home to clean them they had quick release latches and were stamped "Ray Brown Automotive". So now I have an awesome pair of vintage competition seat belts made by Ray Brown for my roadster for only 5 bucks. I also finished welding in the last of my sub frame for the body. now i can remove the body and complete the rear suspension and move onto the front and get a roller going.

I dig the variety of old tin used to make up your body. I will be checking in on this one. Keep it going!

Ya know, those last two pictures really did it for me........it is really turning out to be very cool ! I wasn't sure where it was going up to that point but you evidently had a vision and I like what I see. It reminds me of an old streamliner or something like that.

    Good job. :D

Awesome job man. Coming along real nice!

Your car is so close to what I had mapped out in my head for a low buck boattail roadster body its eerie. I am almost disappointed I came across a complete body, yours will be much more unique.
