    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can identify the year and make of this car in this photograph. This is a photograph of my dad and his car in the late 1940s. I found in this photograph in an old album. Unfortunately he died in 1998 and he is no longer around to ask. I admit that it is a poor quality photograph. Perhaps someone recognizes the tail lights. I am guessing that it is a 1937 Ford. Let me know if I am correct or way off the mark.

    Thanks,

    Robin

Looks kind of like an old Dodge or Plymouth. They were wider than Fords and the tail light were mounted low.

Looks to be about a 34 something, Haven't been able to find anything that has a full length truck lid.

The curved bottom of the deck lid should be a giveaway. I don't believe it's a Ford or a Chevy. I was thinking Mopar but I don't have a guess on the year. 35-36???

Looks like 35 or 36 Mopar to me as well.

  13. Last time I i.d.'d a bumper I got into a bees nest, but it looks like a 1936 Dodge to me. I used to own two of them, but they were sedans so I am going MOSTLY on the bumper. Oh yeah....I still have one of the bumpers in my shop.

1936 Plymouth. The 36 has the full trunk (unless rumble seat) whereas the 35 has the short trunk lid (same as a rumble but hinged opposite). The tip of the bumper on the Plymouth is more pointed (like the picture) and the Dodge is rounder. Also tail light is lower on Plymouth and sticks straight back, whereas Dodge are bullets that sit on top of brackets. Hope that helps. Bob

trunk cut line looks like a 37 Plymouth or Dodge.

    Bumper doesn't look right though.
