Thats my dream car lately. Beautiful.

 

I took this one Friday morning, at sunrise. It's my favorite one from yesterday.

 

This one for me at the moment, at a recent aussie reliability run.

 

Nice pics, EVERYONE. I don't know that I could choose a favorite. A LOT of blood, sweat, and tears on these pages. Wish I had something to contribute, but all mine are OT and my '53 ain't nowhere near ready for a favorite shot yet. Tons of inspiration in this thread though. Beautiful.

Maybe someone should suggest a HAMB calendar be made from some of these photos, and they could sell them in the store, maybe for charity or site maintenance costs? There are certainly some pics worthy of publication, and I know I'd buy a calendar...

 

They already do that.

Oh, I'd much rather buy a calendar with everyone else's rides in it. Mine is so far off from being finished that I'm going to need to start shopping for parts at the Smithsonian before I get it anywhere near the point of being photographic.

Besides, it's just a '53 210, and a more-door at that. I'll be the first to admit it could never hold a candle to what you've all built. I'm not in it for any competition, but I love it just the same.

 

Can ya'll stop posting pictures? I've changed my back ground picture ten times already!!!! Some really nice rides. Mindover, it's your time to shine on my computer for a wee bit! Keep posting all the nice pictures of your rides, we all love it.

Well It would have to be this one of what my 32 Essex Terraplane will look basically like when it is driveable. I am still building.

 

Okey dokey, my wife the photographer (shameless plug; www.CandidHams.net) just sent me these... The car found its way home for the first time this past Tuesday. Mind you, this is a car she had NO idea about, so I was worried about the reaction. Pissed? Nope. She grabbed her camera and snapped shots of it from every angle, standing on the trunk lid of my Saab, from across the street, looking up, upside down... etc.

I think she likes it.

I just took this one on my way back from a show this weekend & posted it on the thread goin' with the background thing. Now I'm thinking that it might be my favorite shot...so here it is.

Very often when I go outside and see my Opel I can't believe it is sitting there.

Even though it is NOT the "Willys of my dreams" it does have some local "drag racing history" to it.

From what I know about our Opel so far ..... like so many "wanna be" drag cars it took years for this "drag racer's" dream to be completed as it passed from one hot rodder to another.

It also had an extended period of time where it just sat idle in some garage or barn for years.

It also "is" and has always been a low-buck project. Much like the many drag cars that made drag racing what it is today.

So what is my favorite picture????? It hasn't been taken yet ..... As our Opel goes through another transformation by our hands we will hopefully be taking a picture of our "dream car"..... one day soon!!!!

Anyone who claims that a classic car MUST HAVE a shiny new paint job to be considered beautiful need only to look at this pic, and suck it. That is just bad ass, plain and simple, and I wouldn't change a damned thing about that car.
