This photo was taken in 1955. It is a really nice car, but needs to lose the front hub caps. Note the raked windshield posts. that makes it look like it's going 42 MPH while sitting still.
Here are some deuce tubs . Two were built in the '50's, and the multi-colored one was my daily transportation for a couple of years [when the weather co-operated], in the early '70's.
This picture was taken around 1969, in south eastern Australia. All ran and they were all for sale. The Model A was $100, the deuces were $250, and the '33 was $250. With a little dealing, you could have grabbed them for less!
If Steve is posting photos of his 1932 Phaeton here are some of mine that I am getting ready for the V-8 meet in Hiawassee Ga.
hi i know you have sold your phaeton but love this car and hoped you may have some more photos of it iam trying to put parts together to build one and yours is the best ive seen thanks Craig
Anyone have more details about the Santa Ana Spl? I've done some searching with little luck. Thanks, Steve
Love this car. At the risk of sounding ridiculously stupid, what is it? My pre-1950 car id'er is broken.
Some assembly required, but going to end up on a '29 Cadillac frame with a dressed 390. Body is a '30 - '31 large Buick, pretty much the same as the Lasalle of the same era.
Ah, figures. I'd never be able to afford one of those. I've got a flathead that I'm going to be rebuilding as soon as my '50 is done, and looking for something to put it in. A phaeton would be a perfect family rod.
The Duval Phaeton is sublime. But I've always loved the rawness of Model T, and A, tubs. Mine is moving along...
Here's mine in all it's glory. Really wish I could get on it now but I have other things in line. Going to be a great driver I think. Just looking at all these Phaeton's is making me excited!!!
Is this going on your Ionia Rod Shop chassis as a hiboy? It would be killer and not a typical Deuce roadster.
If my ship comes in I would like my last car to be one like Rodger Bells which has the best profile I have seen in any phaeton. Yes, I do like fendered phaetons as much as hiboys.
Here is another one I love with the resto look of the 80's. Gary still owns this one and it looks as good today as it did in 1983. He traded it a Deuce hiboy roadster but ended up buying it back. Mercedes beige is the color. He also has the front set back 3 inches which is required in the 32-34 phaeton, if you are over 5'10" tall.
Yep unless I can sell it and buy and original chassis to slide under it. However I like the flattened crossmembers and such since I plan on running an undropped axle up front. Plans include... Black Body and suspension 17 & 18" wire wheels Columbia Rear end Undropped axle with reversed eye springs Lincoln brakes Brown Leather interior with leather hood straps Full hood 59a Flathead with Weiand Cheater Heads and Weiand high rise 2x2 intake And so on.... Thanks!
