  2. Good on you young man , top effort .
I too was 14 when I got my first car . Pulled out of a hedge - had been used as a hutch for a goat! Yours is a way better start !

My first car is the 40 Coupe in my avitar. My second car was a 53 Ford and very nice one at that. After all it was only 12 years old at the time. Paint was nice, interior was nice but I bought it for the new Sears Allstate rebuilt flathead that was in it but it had a toasted auto trans. I paid $30 for it back in 1965 and dad thought I was building the wrong car. I probably was because the coupe was just a shell and a old hotrod. One month later the coupe was running with the new Allstate motor and I was heading the 400 miles to Reno, NV for school. Dad always said I would never get my $100 back out of my coupe. Still trying to prove him wrong but I won't tell him how much I have in her now.

Nice way to start Jason, I had a 52 and loved it! Great looking cars in my opinion. Enjoy the build with your Dad, you're both very lucky.

Looks better already from when you first brought it home. Funny what a little soap and water and a shop vac will do for an old car. :)

BTW, I'm sure your Pop has already told you this, but there is a lot of stuff on a car that can hurt you. Make sure it is really up on good jackstands with the floorjack still left underneath for extra protection when you are underneath, and never go under unless someone else is there with you at the time. You can never be too careful with this stuff. All of us can tell you close calls we have had when one dropped down unexpectedly.
