I know that it may not be a nostalgia event by any means but maybe if we can get a bunch of HAMBers there then we can change it! here is the email they sent me because I went to last years show.

5th Annual Spring Open Show at the Dell Diamond • Benefiting SafePlace • Saturday, March 3, 2012

Saturday March 3rd: The Mustang Owners Club of Austin will be joining with the Round Rock Express and the Dell Diamond for the 2012 edition of our Spring Open Car Show.

This show is open to all makes and models of cars and trucks. Awards will be given to the top 12 vehicles based on the votes cast by fellow participants. Entry fee is still just $15 and the registration form is available on the MOCA website.

As in our previous Spring shows, the Dell Diamond will be open and the Round Rock Express will be hosting an Open House with lots of family friendly activities to promote the upcoming 2012 baseball season. Concessions, rest rooms, and the Rail Yard store will be open throughout the day.

We can always use help to ensure a successful event. If you would like to assist with parking, setting up before the show, or cleaning up after the show, please e-mail [email protected]

Time: Registration begins at 8:00AM and ends at 10:30AM. Trophy presentation is at 3:00PM.

Location: Dell Diamond, Hwy. 79, Round Rock

    Rain Date: March 10, 2012

Because I run into this same problem every year, I created an events section on my website.

Easy to see overview of all events, color-coded by type.

You can add events, export the calendar to your personal calendar (export as iCal) and see in all kinds of different layouts.

I've added all the events that are listed in this thread so far, any others? please submit.

Trying to keep this to Texas events for now.. would get totally unmanageable otherwise.

I'll also submit those pages to google and bing/yahoo automatically so they are indexed and searchable from the general internet.

Find the event list here: http://hrclassiccars.com/elist/year.listevents

If you have ideas to make the list easier to use, want more categories or any other changes, let me know.

Don't forget the Decatur Swapmeet. Seems like it kicks off the car season for me every year.

The Texas Timing Association is adding a major spring drag race to it's annual Texas State Championship. The new event is the Texas Nitro Nostalgia Drag Race and Cacklefest, May 5th at San Antonio Raceway.

Headlining the new race will be the wild fuel altereds and front engined dragsters of the Texas Blown Fuel Association, the Southwest Jr. Fuel Association, and the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association, plus exciting Texas-based Top Fuel Dragsters and smoky Nitro Funny Cars.

Traditional drag racing enthusiasts will thrill to pairs of wheel-standing Gassers and Super Stockers competing in 10 evenly-matched heads-up index-based classes running as a part of the afternoon and evening nostalgia race. The morning will be set aside for those who want to run in the bracket category.

    Get more details at www.texastiming.com.

We do a monthly get-together 3rd Saturday of the month (March-November) in Sherman...Texoma HAMBurger Run. I post it on the HAMB calendar and in the North Texas HAMB'ers group on here. FWIW, you can look there and get the dates for most Texas events.

June and July are pretty empty on the calendar. Are there any shows we missed that can still be added to the calendar.

And if you can, please limit the suggestions to pre-64 shows that are not open to all makes and models of cars.

    LaGrave Field--Fort Worth June 23/24
One of my faves just because the location is so kool. They tell me this is the last one b4 they move (again!) but I can't verify that. Cowtown Skyline in the background makes for some incredible photo shots. I see stuff for everything imaginable with a motor here--cars/motorcycles/planes/boats you name it. Very eclectic mix. Gonna miss it, if this is truly the last one.

Here are a few not-to-miss events coming up in the next 60 days...

    http://www.dayofthedrags.com/

Shoot, I'm going to miss day of the drags becuase we are heading up to Chicago for the Iron Invasion.

    http://ironinvasion.com/

But we can't miss the Hot Rod Revolution

    http://www.hotrodrevolution.com/

Then it's Dia De Los Strugglers

    https://www.facebook.com/pages/Strugglers-CC/342455754148

Now these are the type of events I'm talking about folks, not the local car show at the church down the street from your house! haha.
