I just bought this 48 Chevy coupe to either rebuild or use for parts. It's been hit pretty hard in the left side. I'd like to find the builder so I can find out what frame is under it, etc. I bought it from a salvage yard in eastern IL. Thanks!
I don't recognize it, but why not just post a pic of the frame, I'm sure some one could tell what it is.
It may have the original 48 frame with a Nova front clip, that was popular way to go. It could also be original with Mustang II. Hard to say with out seeing something.
I'm thinking the back is Monte Carlo as I had to get some axles for the back and that's what the rear end numbers lead is to. It has the "factory" 4-link from something like that in the back with aftermarket trailing arms upper and lower. The front is not Must. II. It's something newer GM. Somebody spent a lot of time (money) on this car at one time judging by the attention to detail. I can't tell if it's been "subbed" front and rear or a complete frame swap was done. I'll try to get more pix sometime. Thanks!
it may be a complete monte carlo frame 73-77 i put one under my 41 and changed out the rear arms to after market. the wheel base was a good fit. had to fit the floor pans for the rear springs and frame to clear
