Looks like fun. But I kinda like the "bed" sides - have you considered making it a racing roadster pickup? Seriously, think of the cargo you could haul on a long trip! Gary

Great speedster. Would have liked to see the gorilla that turned that crank!

Man, I'd LOVE to drive up in something like this on cruise night.

I love these as well. I believe one of the pictured speedsters was for sale last year on E*ay but reserve was not met. The video of it running and cruising is worth a look though!

    COOL! Thanks for the link.
There at the last, when they showed it idling, it was running at the same beat as Radar Love by Golden Ear Ring.
    :D
Carlisle, you got one heck of a job ahead of you.
    I'll be following this build.

I'm fairly certain that they do. There are several guys in Australia and New Zealand who are making them into speedsters currently.

I hadn't heard about any being built in Aus. I have never seen one in my travels but that doesn't mean they don't exist. It's possible they are imports.

i bet you could easily cut a few feet out of that drive shaft and shorten the girl up, looks pretty simple?

I could shorten it a few feet, but I kind of like the super long look. It will look much better once the radiator is moved back, the cowl chopped and the hood lengthened. I looks a lot odd right now just pieced together.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with, I just liked the aesthetic of the LAF posted on the prior page.

For those of you that don't know this, Tom LaFerriere is the guy that owned the ALF speedster that had several pictures posted on this thread. It was one really neat car/truck. It inspired me to start building my speedster. Tom is kind of the king of American LaFrance speedsters.

What's the plan for the T-28?

The T28 is slated to become a street legal airplane fuselage. I had a Lockheed Lodestar that I was going to build into a motor home, but it was to badly damaged.

I've decided that I have way to many irons in the fire and I'm feeling the stress of it. I've decided to sell off a few of my projects so that I don't lose the last few strands of hair that I have left due to stress. So, I'm putting this 1927 LaFrance speedster project up for sale. I'll be listing it in the classified section. I also have a 1937 Chevrolet fender-less truck project for sale- in the classifieds. The American LaFrance chassis will make someone a neat project that can be completed in a hurry.

It looks a lot like "BRUTUS" the car with a Zeppelin V12 that is at the Sinsheim Museum in Germany.
