This thread is simply awesome. Pretty much all of my favorite cars in one place.

Awesome thread ... I've enjoyed everyone's posts and pix, especially the bottomless collection that Brent seems to have!! He's even got photo's of a couple of my old cars.

But -- and I know this is probably OT -- I couldn't help be struck by the fact that in all the pictures posted here, there's no more than a handful of Model A's that are running Model A radiator shells. The Deuce shell is great looking, and doubtlessly iconic, but does anybody besides me think it's become an overdone, cookiecutter addition reflecting no creative thought whatever?? Or is that too harsh?

It's worth remembering that what's overdone and cookiecutter on the HAMB is fresh and unique in most of the real world.

    Good one! Gary.

Another favorite... It's not who did it first, it's who did it BEST!

  8. As much as I love the deuce shell on my car, I've often thought about how perfect the 22 jr roadster looks.

I can't remember now if mine is 2" or 3" chopped and I just leaned back the the whole lot until it looked right to me.

the chopped/leaned back windscreen is a prerequisite for me.

Rolling Bones built that car. It was in a couple of street rodder articles, dash modifications and such. Y block powered and a 5 speed. Car is owned by Randy Stenson and resides in Wisconsin.

Bitchin thread....sorry I'm late to the party.

That looks great--the truck and the windshield! I've never liked a leaned back windshield post on a '28-'29. They don't follow the lines of the cowl post. When done like yours, the eye picks up the continuity of the line between cowl post and windshield post.

Thank you sir! I just rolled it out of the hell hole that is my shop for the first time in almost five year today, with it's new Halibrands. I gotta say I spent the better part of an hour just looking at it and shooting pictures here and there just getting excited about it again.

I'm building something similar, but without Halibrands it ain't in the same class as yours! Those wheels define "traditional".

Ya, I can have them due to deal with a good friend that will basically place me in something approaching indentured sevitude for the next couple of years as I pay them off... HHHHMMMMNNNN, freedom for Halibrands... I think it is worth it!!!

Oo. I'm liking this one. Got a build thread on it?

Yep! Saw that thread.. Very cool car. Banger, mechanical brakes, Columbia rear. Almost like an A roadster version of your T! Gotta love them pre-war gow jobs!

That is nice, can't get any better.

  25. Anyone ever chop a Seller's Equipped? I've got one and I'm thinking of doing a slight chop and having the glass cut straight along the top edge
to lower the profile a tad.

Here's my low budget tilt-able windscreen. The adjusters are pieces of drum kit (cymbal stands, in fact). The rods allow the frame to slide down forwards too.

Very cool, fellas. CTaulbert, I love that car - really sharp looking. Any no-top pics?

Ed, very neat. I've got big respect for how Aussies hot rod.

Speaking of, here's some pics of chopped and leaned cars from the 2010 Chopped Aussie show. These guys know how to have fun!
