Sorry Ben's on a haul, but I think I can explain it.:)

Our first born was mystery on what he was going to be (though in Ben's family there has only been 2 girls in 50 years), so we came up with some ideas. We wanted a family name (first name) and a car name (middle name). Our oldest name is Forest "Gray" DeLozier. Forest is Ben's middle name and grandfather's name and you probably can figure out the Gray (Baskerville). Gray to this day loves flip flops, the salt, and floppy hats. The alternatives were Kelsy Hayes and Paxton (blowers) for the girls names.

Our 2nd wasn't a mystery, only 19 monthes apart so we needed to know if we were buying new stuff. Same idea of family name and car name. Our second's name is Charles McLean DeLozier. Charles is a long family name on my side (nickname is Chase, didn't want a chuck or a charlie). McLean is for wheels. Though Chase really became his name because it won the coin toss, he was almost a Bobby McGee which if you have ever met Chase, he could have pulled that name off without any trouble.

Both of my boys are car guys, not because of their names, but because they live and breath it on a daily basis.

My Dad wanted to name my brother Deuce Coupe ! :D but Mom wouldn't let him

if I ever.... I want to name my first boy or girl (there would only be one! ;) ) Dennis or Denise Lesky, I think those are great Hot Rod names :D

I like Deuce Coupe though ;)

  17. I'll play (even though my two original choices were already taken: Cameron and Boyd). They'll be totally off the wall to any non-rodder, but bet my girlfriend, Noxzema, would get them.

    - Isky
    - Kong (as in Jackson)
    - Mickey (Thompson)
    - JC (Whitney)
    - Charley (Honest)
    - or just any "traditional" name and call him Finkster

Best wishes for the new arrival.:)

Too bad you don't have a sweet tooth, you just earned yourself a huge batch of cookies. I guess I'll send them to your Dad. :D Oh yeah, if we ever have a child together I'm all for naming the kid, boy or girl, Deuce Coupe Lesky. I think that's a really cool name.

    How about Lane or Gage?
My daughter's name is Natalie but we call her 'Tika'-it just came out one day and stuck like glue. I also like old school Biblical names (son's name is Jonah). My wife is due in late December. She's convinced we're having a girl, but in the event we have a boy, we like Gideon, Parrish, and Harlan.

not a kid but I named my dog Hemi. Kinda worked well, then the whole hemi rage happened out of left field and kind off spoiled it. Still a cool name though, glad that it quited down now. My second choice was mud, since I like offroading and shes a chocolate lab.

  21. Name him Sue - I hear it'll make him tough.

"Auto" is what I wanted to name my son. No one would really know till you spell it. My wife shot that one down pretty quick, but I did get my second pick Philo ( Clint eastwoods name off of " Any which way but loose") now I just have to have a son.

  25. My first born is named Michael Stanley, after both our grandfathers.

My second is named Riley Hudson.:D

I had a couple beers, and a few nights on the HAMB, she came up with all these, well, less than "manly" names...

So I tossed that one out

Riley- after the four port, duh, what else.:D
Hudson- my original HAMB name was SevenX, cuz they RULE!

I can't believe the wife went for it.

But I love em both the same. Her too, I guess.:D

My wife and I fought over this topic for a while. She'd pick a name and
I'd pick a name, then she'd say another, then I'd get tired of playin' and
    say chewbacca.
Finally we both made a list of 20 names and there was one name that was
    on both lists.

How about using one of the old car company names. Nash, Tucker, Graham, Packard etc.

I really wanted to name my son Tucker, but the wife didn't like it.

If you have more than one you could have a theme goin.
