I'm reasonably certain that if the mods disapprove of this it will go away... Great video of a Spontaneous Victory Parade in Honolulu in 1945. Take a look at this video-absolutely fabulous! Notice the cars, jeeps, and youth. The guys in khaki or gray shirts and black ties are Navy officers or chiefs. The rest are Army or Marine. How young they all were to do what they did. This guy really captured a moment in history! (You can listen to Jimmy Durante singing "I'll be Seeing You" in the background, too) This is a super video of a time past - we need to remember and be THANKFUL. Check out the color fidelity. It's not bad for 1945. Nothing will ever compare with Kodachrome film. Click here for the video: http://vimeo.com/5645171
That is a GREAT video. Really helps you imagine how greatful everyone was that the war had finally ended.
What a wonderful film! The bravest generation for sure. Dig the shot of the Gal standing on the cowl of the phaeton at about 1:30. This scene could be inspiration for a modern day movie of WW II Hawaii....
Sure makes you appreciate the sacrifices those young men made in a different time than our own. I especially liked the vintage cars driving down the road in all their glory. God bless the USA.
Nice job of synching the sound EFX with the film. Bet there was a run on single edge razor blades that day from folks scraping those damn "A" cards off their windshields!
god that was great. almost brings tears to your eyes when you think about the ones that didnt get to celebrate.little did they know that america would be endangered from within just 67 yrs later.
